Combo in the recording studio

So instead of going to Concrete to play, the Combo went to the studio to do some recording.  We recorded three tunes - Robin's Fortune Cookie, ("well I just might get a kiss tonight!"), Diane's latin-infused Passing of Time, and a song that, sadly, none of us wrote, Over the Rainbow.  It's the first time that the combo has recorded - too much fun!  We have a bit more work to do, but it was a great evening.

UPDATE - POSTPONED: bZ Combo to play in Concrete.

UPDATE - We are postponing.  The Apple Cup will dominate the Concrete Brewpub when we were scheduled to play.  We'll let you know when we re-schedule.  The combo will travel to the Birdsview Brewing Company in Concrete on Saturday November 26.  The popular brewpub gets great reviews from those who have been there.  5:30 pm.  We hope to see you there!

Whatcom Land Trust Rocks

So excited to be playing for the Whatcom Land Trust's "Brew-Ha-Ha" event tonight (October 1) at Boundary Bay.  This organization is a treasure - they facilitate the preservation of precious Whatcom County land and continue to help keep this a most amazing place!  I can't believe we live here :)

100-Acre Wood Celebration

On Thursday evening, the community celebrated the purchase of the "100-Acre Wood" by the City of Bellingham.  Hundreds of people were there, thankful that this prime piece of nature was preserved with the intention of creating a future park (instead of the Chuckanut Ridge Housing Development).  Bellingham Mayor Dan Pike and other dignitaries spoke eloquently.

The bandZandt Combo (Kent, Robin, Diane, Doug) was invited to perform along with many other local favorite musicians (Linda Allen, Tim McHugh, Mockingbird and Dana Lyons were among the dozen or so performers).  bZ sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" - then played our almost-completed recording of "Coal Train."  More on that one soon!

Some pictures from the Blue Mountain Grill

Here are some shots from the August 20 gig at one of our favorite haunts, the Blue Mountain Grill in Acme.
